Our sweet and selfless mom was on a walk on Saturday evening and got hit by a car that peeled around the corner and directly hit her, knocking her down and crushing many bones in her skull - upper and lower jaw, nose, cheekbones, forehead, and eye socket bone (orbit), which was crushed, and a sizeable skull fracture.

She has had severe trauma to the head, but we are hopeful for her recovery as she is responding very well to commands and cues.

She is undergoing the first of several surgeries to restore her face, her facial functions, her eyesight, her jaw (which will be wired shut for 6-8 weeks), and her eye orbit.

The costs of the surgeries and hospital fees will be quite high. While the driver has been cooperative with his car insurance, there is no health insurance whatsoever, and we are hoping to raise fees for a lawyer and anything that doesn't get covered with the driver's car insurance.

Anyone that knows my mom knows her to be one of the most giving, selfless people there is. Our hope would be to help give back to her what she has so willingly and selflessly given to us and others.
