<div>Our sweet and selfless mom was on a walk on Saturday evening and got hit by a car that peeled around the corner and directly hit her, knocking her down and crushing many bones in her skull - upper and lower jaw, nose, cheekbones, forehead, and eye socket bone (orbit), which was crushed, and a sizeable skull fracture.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has had severe trauma to the head, but we are hopeful for her recovery as she is responding very well to commands and cues.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She is undergoing the first of several surgeries to restore her face, her facial functions, her eyesight, her jaw (which will be wired shut for 6-8 weeks), and her eye orbit.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The costs of the surgeries and hospital fees will be quite high.</strong> While the driver has been cooperative with his car insurance, there is no health insurance whatsoever, and we are hoping to raise fees for a lawyer and anything that doesn't get covered with the driver's car insurance.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Anyone that knows my mom knows her to be one of the most giving, selfless people there is. <strong>Our hope would be to help give back to her what she has so willingly and selflessly given to us and others.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for anyone who feels inspired to give. May God bless you!!
