It feels a little unusual for us to share something like this, but we’re starting this GoFundMe to support our parents through a very challenging time.

In 2016, our mom received a kidney and pancreas transplant, which gifted us nine wonderful years together. In 2023, that kidney began to fail, and she has been on dialysis since. While the treatment has given her more time with us, it’s has put significant stress on her heart. After experiencing her second heart attack in three months, she was flown to Mount Sinai in NYC for specialized care. Her first procedure was a success, however, the doctors came in and advised news that we were not expecting. Her heart will not be strong enough to preform a kidney transplant. They strongly urged her to undergo a heart/kidney transplant. After spending some time processing, we are grateful that she has agreed to get the surgery. We are so happy that our mom, again, chose life.

She will now be staying at Mt Sinai in the cardiac ICU, fighting as she always does, until she undergoes the double transplant. The timeframe is unclear - it could be a few weeks or a few months.

We have been doing our best to be by our mom’s side while she continues to fight. Our dad especially has been by her side every step of the way—staying in hotels, traveling back and forth, and managing daily life in the city while also managing home life —all of which come with growing expenses.

We know times are tough for many, and it’s not easy for us to ask for help. But if you’re able to contribute, share, or simply send your love and prayers, it would mean so much to our family. Every bit of support helps lighten the load.
