We are four passionate law students Amna Sohrab, Mohsina Hayat, Neha Fatima, and Shereen Ali from the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), proudly representing Pakistan at the 23rd Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong (2025–2026).

Our participation marks a historic milestone for IIUI the first ever all-female team representing our university and Pakistan on one of the world’s most prestigious legal competition. In a country where women form nearly half of the population but remain underrepresented in specialized areas like international arbitration, our journey reflects progress, empowerment, and equal opportunity.

The scope of women in law in Pakistan is rapidly growing, and initiatives like the Vis Moot play a transformative role in accelerating this change. The competition allows women to gain global exposure, develop advocacy and negotiation skills, and build professional networks with leading arbitrators and international law firms. By participating, we not only strengthen Pakistan’s presence in international dispute resolution but also open doors for future female lawyers to step confidently into global legal forums.

For us, the Vis Moot is more than a competition it’s a platform to learn, lead, and create lasting impact. We aim to bring back global learning, research excellence, and advocacy experience to our academic and legal community, helping bridge the gap between local education and international arbitration practice.
