If you know Stephen Ezell, it is likely you have a story to tell about a time he showed up for you, helped you, listened to you, or otherwise gave of himself, his time, and his resources to be there for you.
Steve is a person who shows up, and if you know him as a friend, you know he is also a person who sticks around with you through the tough times.
I've known Steve for many years, and I couldn't begin to count the times he's shown up for me. And I know my story is not an isolated one. Many of you can say the same.
Now it's our turn to show up for him.
If you haven't read or heard yet, Steve has been working hard for the past year to launch a business that's been in the making for over 8 years. Steve's passion is coffee. From his humble beginnings working as a bookkeeper for a coffee company, to traveling Central America to learn the agricultural and cultivation processes for the worlds finest coffees, to becoming one of 4,000 certified Q graders in the WORLD, Steve's skill, talent, and passion for coffee are second to none. Finally, this past year, Steve began taking some of the first steps to solidify his long-time dream of opening a specialty coffee company. With his business partner Jon Shepard, he launched Sequential Coffee and their first products became available in January of this year. Just as Sequential was set to open their first kiosk location and secure a revenue stream, the pandemic hit, and their plans were halted.
Unable to take a salary, and unable to find an alternative job without having to let go of the dream he's been working so hard for, Steve has now gone 5 months without any income. And he needs some relief. Sequential has been unable to secure SBA, PPP, or other assistance, Steve has not received his stimulus check, does not qualify for unemployment, and the bills are long overdue.
Steve needs his friends now. He needs our help. Let's show him we are watching, we are proud of him, and we are here for him.
