Hello, we’re Light Beyond Shadows, a brand-new 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Independence, Missouri. We were created out of a deep passion to help children and teens who have experienced trauma. Many of these young people struggle silently, carrying pain and fear without the support they need. We believe no child should have to face those shadows alone.

Our mission is simple but powerful:

Why We’re Raising Money

Now that we are officially recognized as a tax-exempt nonprofit, we’re ready to take the next step: securing a permanent building space where our vision can come to life.

This space will allow us to:

Offer a safe, stable environment where kids can feel secure and supported

Provide trauma-informed art, creativity, and self-expression workshops

Host group sessions, life-skills training, and family support activities

Build a community of hope and healing for children and families

Your donations will directly fund rent, utilities, and essential setup costs for our very first building. This will be the home where kids can start to heal, grow, and build brighter futures.
