Support Our Family's Move to Care for Grandma

Hello!

Our family of three is fundraising to get our grandmother from Minneapolis, MN to Portland, OR so that we can become her full time caretakers! She is currently 75 with many health issues that prevent her from being able to care for herself and the state of MN is considering taking custody of her if she does not get a full time caretaker soon.

Once settled we will be able to comfortably afford having a larger apartment and a dependent but we have been focusing on paying down debts for the last year instead of saving up to move. I will list the break down of expenses below but we are trying to get her to Oregon as soon as possible and the faster we can pay for these expenses the better!

Expense breakdown:

$3k First month rent at new apartment (Hoping to move in July)

$3k Deposit (usually same amount as first month rent)

$500 pet rent (We have 2 dogs and a cat. We might only have one dog and one cat when we move)

$50 Uhaul (Moving our large furniture for one day)

$750 Plane tickets (3 to MN, 2 back to PDX)

$460 Train tickets (2 people from MN to PDX)

$300 sending boxes of pictures and sentimental items to PDX from MN

This total is flexible and every cent helps us get closer to the goal of getting our grandma into a place where her quality of life will improve greatly with 24/7 care. Thank you for reading, sharing and being in community with us!
