The family court system is hard to navigate and a struggle to protect children. In 2023, the children had an incident with the their father that caused them to be removed from his care and court-ordered therapy.

As of July, the court had ordered immediate supervised visitation with their father along with a bilateral custody evaluation, regardless of the children’s readiness.

In 2024, I was laid off from my job as a full-time teacher along with 253 others and have yet to be recalled. My income is very limited and already in the negative.

I was court-ordered to pay for 50% of the evaluation ($12,000) and a percentage of the cost of weekly supervised visits ($75 per hour). Due to my very low income, this is an impossibility without some sort of miracle.

$6,000 will go directly to the psychologist as my portion of the retainer for the evaluations.

$4,800 will go directly to my portion of supervised visits for 16 weeks.

$2,200 will be for an addition costs for either evaluations or supervised visits.

So I am asking for a miracle…
