Today, my grandmother Rebeca Garcia Mendoza, aunt, and two uncles became victims of a terrifying and unexpected robbery at their home in Mexico. Five masked men armed with guns broke into their house, threatened them at gunpoint, and forced them to sit while they ransacked everything in their home. During this assault, they stole a large portion of their savings, which represented years of hard work and effort.

This robbery occurred while the men of the house were away, leaving my grandmother and aunt vulnerable and terrified. The violence and cruelty of this act has caused them not just material loss, but deep emotional trauma.

Cinco hombres enmascarados y armados irrumpieron en su casa, los amenazaron a punta de pistola y los obligaron a sentarse mientras saqueaban toda la vivienda. Durante este asalto, robaron gran parte de sus ahorros, los cuales representaban años de esfuerzo y trabajo.

Este robo ocurrió mientras los hombres de la casa no estaban presentes, dejando a mi abuela y tia vulnerables y aterradas. La violencia y crueldad de este acto no solo les ha causado una gran pérdida material, sino también un profundo trauma emocional.
