On the night of May 12th, my family's studio apartment in the Tenderloin got caught on fire—damaging most of our personal belongings and valuables—leaving us displaced for the meantime. As a result, seventeen years of my life was destroyed in one night.
We are a family of two, my single mother being the only other household member. She is working as a caregiver, while I work as a part-time museum docent since I am a minor.
And we are grateful for any help we could get in during this time of trouble.
