Sometimes we find ourselves on a path we never intended to be on and when you recognize the need to exit you may need help from friends and family to get on that new path.

I’ve been struggling with this post due to the incredibly sensitive nature of it. But how does one ask for help without giving the background? After much discussion we have decided to reach out and share a bit of what our family is dealing with.

Unfortunately, our daughter found herself in an abusive relationship these last couple years. I cannot share too much as there is an ongoing court case.

My daughter is done and wants nothing more than to move on. However, this person has threatened her life and demonstrated scary behavior. She has filed a restraining order but he has chosen to fight it.

We are needing help with legal fees so we can hire proper representation to ensure this person receives a court order to stay away from her and to relinquish his weapons for her safety.

Our family is asking for help as it’s a very important step in protecting her and allowing her the ability to move on. Unfortunately, our pocketbooks aren’t as deep as they need to be. We just want to see her happy, healthy and for her to have her freedom without fear.
