Hey everyone,
On Tuesday, October 7th, Oswaldo was detained by federal immigration agents. This sudden and devastating situation has deeply impacted our entire family. I made the difficult decision to take a leave from college for the next two weeks to support my parents and begin raising funds to secure the legal representation my brother urgently needs.
Oswaldo is not only the main provider for our family; he is the person my mom depends on daily for doctor appointments, medication pickups, and groceries. Beyond that, he’s a devoted father to two young children, a six-year-old daughter and an 11-month-old baby boy, whose lives have been turned upside down by his detention.
Oswaldo grew up in the southwest side and was part of Increase the Peace Chicago as a youth participant, where he found community, mentorship, and purpose. Over the years, he’s grown into a proud young father and family man who works hard to provide for his loved ones and give back to others.
This moment is heartbreaking for us, and we’re doing everything we can to bring him home. All funds raised will go directly toward Oswaldo’s legal representation and supporting our family as we navigate this difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your solidarity, compassion, and support.
