Minnesota is home to one of the largest Oromo communities in the USA.

The Oromo Community of Minnesota (OCM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving our people since 1985, is launching this emergency fund to provide a lifeline for families directly impacted by recent immigration enforcement action.

Why we need your help today:

Our community is facing:

• Sudden Loss of Income: Families are struggling to cover rent and utilities.

• Urgent Food & Supply Needs: Many families are in need of direct deliveries of food and hygiene products.

• Legal Assistance: Refugees and asylum seekers require specialized legal counsel to navigate complex federal actions.

How your donations will be used:

All funds will be managed by the Oromo Community of Minnesota and distributed to families based on urgent needs:

• Emergency Rent & Utility Assistance: Keeping families in their homes.

• Grocery & Essential Deliveries: Providing food and medicine to those in need.

• Legal Aid Referrals: Connecting families with critical representation and resources.

• Rapid Response Support: Funding OCM’s Rapid Response Team to provide culturally and linguistically specific aid.
