When I was a little girl, my family moved to Japan and I was the only non-Japanese kid at my school. Though my blonde curly hair made me stick out a bit, I soon learned the language and made friends. Then, we moved back to America and because of that experience in Japan, I always had a heart for people from other countries who move to America. After graduating from college with an international relations degree, I worked for a global non-profit for a decade.
Now, my passion is to love my neighbors in Orlando, especially those who have moved here from other nations. Together with like-minded friends, I'm creating "Orlando Blooms," a group of people growing plants and growing community.
All proceeds go toward programs for immigrant kids, whether in the U.S. or abroad. Thank you for helping Orlando Blooms provide books, school supplies, water bottles and engaging activities for kids.
