Thank you. Because of the people who gave to this fundraiser, the truck is wrapped and on the road. It has sat in school parking lots, at community events, and in front of families who needed to see it. That part is done.

Here is what we are raising for now.

One Good Word, One Good Deed is an anti-bullying movement out of metro Detroit. We built a program that runs across a full school year. A whole-school assembly. A workshop where students rehearse what to actually say when they see it happen. A session on where a group chat crosses the line. A trained student ambassador team. Staff training and a family night. It runs for elementary, middle and high school.

Schools pay for it when they can. The problem is that the buildings that need it most are usually the ones with nothing left in the budget for it. We are not willing to tell a principal no because their district is broke.

Every dollar here goes to three things.

Underwriting schools that cannot pay. $1,500 puts an assembly in front of an entire school. $3,200 covers a starter program: the assembly, a workshop round, staff training, and before and after surveys so the school can see what changed. $6,500 covers a full school year in one building.

Kids and the community. $250 is a supply drop. Backpacks, notebooks, pencils, the things that never make it onto the official list. The rest funds back-to-school giveaways, family nights and neighborhood events. On Friday, October 30 at 5:00 PM at 1615 S Wayne Rd in Westland, we are holding A Night For Drayke, a free community night in memory of Drayke Hardman, who was twelve. Trick-or-treat bags, games, giveaways, costumes, and his story told out loud. Free to every family that walks through the door.

Keeping it running. Wristbands and printed materials, fuel to get to the buildings, insurance, and the admin work behind all of it. Not glamorous. It is what makes the other two possible.

Why this matters to us: Jason started this after losing his daughter's friend to bullying. She was 14. This was never a campaign for us. It is the thing we do.

Full transparency: One Good Word, One Good Deed is a Michigan LLC, not a 501(c)(3), so your donation is not tax deductible. What you get instead is a straight report on where it went, which school it funded, and what changed there.
