Hi everyone,

My name is Om Shatagopam, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 119 in Charlotte, NC. I am currently working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. To earn this rank, I must lead a service project that benefits my community.

I have chosen to support Beds for Kids, a non-profit organization based in Charlotte, NC. Beds for Kids serves thousands of families every year who are transitioning out of poverty and homelessness. Their mission is to ensure that families get furniture that turns a house into a home.

For families starting over in a new apartment, simple things like a place to sit are often missing. For my project, I will be leading a team of volunteers to purchase, assemble, and reinforce high-quality benches.

Since this project relies on purchasing specific furniture kits to ensure quality and safety. I need to raise funds to buy the kits directly.

My Goal is $550 to cover:

Purchase of 5+ IKEA NÄMMARÖ Bench Kits.

Food and hydration for my volunteer team.

Where does the money go? 100% of donations will go toward this project. Any funds raised above my goal will be used to purchase additional benches or donated directly to Beds for Kids.
