My sister Olivia is a devoted, loving mother of four incredible children. After years of being a full-time mom, she’s now going through a heartbreaking and unexpected divorce. While doing everything she can to care for and protect her kids, she’s facing a mountain of emotional and financial challenges.

Custody is currently shared, but the children have made it clear that they don’t feel safe or emotionally comfortable living with their father half the time. In a few weeks, a court-appointed attorney will meet with the kids to hear their perspectives and represent their voices in court. Olivia urgently needs $1,500 to pay for this legal advocate, someone who can ensure the children are truly seen and heard.

One of the most painful and unsustainable parts of the current situation is that Olivia has to leave the family home every other week, when it’s her ex’s custodial time, so he can stay there. This means she’s paying for temporary housing like Airbnb rentals just to have a place to go, while also trying to maintain a sense of normalcy and security for the children. It’s emotionally draining and financially depleting.

She is working hard; she’s started a job as a caregiver and is actively applying for more stable work, but starting over as a single mother of four is incredibly difficult. What she and the kids need more than anything right now is a safe, stable home where they can begin to rebuild their lives with dignity, peace, and hope.
