I'd like to share the story of my beloved grandson, Oliver — a deeply loved baby who was born with a condition that affects his ability to breathe on his own. Since birth, Oliver has been battling severe apnea and has undergone surgery on his epiglottis (the small flap that protects your airway and helps you swallow). Unfortunately, this did not fully resolve the issue.

Poor Oliver has already endured a long hospital stay — 128 days in just his first six months of life. He has faced major challenges, including surgery, serious infections, and the need for constant medical care. Throughout this time, his devoted parents took turns at his bedside, making sure he was never alone.

Oliver is finally home with the assistance of home care support. He is breathing through a tracheostomy and receiving nutrition through a feeding tube. Unfortunately, that alone is not enough. Oliver still requires ongoing physical therapy and other treatments to continue progressing.

Currently, the family is facing serious financial strain. In addition to the overwhelming medical debt, they are struggling to cover Oliver’s monthly treatment and rehabilitation costs, which total about $2,000 (USD) per month. My daughter and son-in-law are doing their best to work from home so they can provide 24-hour care, but the expenses are urgent and constant.

As a grandmother living in Florida, it breaks my heart not to be able to help them financially the way I wish I could. I am starting this campaign and asking for support, as it is the only way I’ve found to help them and ensure Oliver receives the care he so desperately needs. They urgently need to raise enough funds to cover the next 4 to 5 months of his treatment — about $8,000 to $10,000 USD — until the family can regain financial stability.
