Hi there! I’m Nichole Penland—a mom of two, a realtor, and an independent insurance agent based in Oakland, and I host children’s business fairs that help our young entrepreneurs shine. This holiday season, I’m adding a special community initiative: providing a full Holiday -style meal kit to 50 local families who could use an extra boost.
Our plan:
We’ll purchase 50 pre-cooked dinner kits from a trusted retailer (approximately $200 each) to cover one family each.
These kits will include a turkey or main entrée, essential sides, and dessert—everything needed for a full holiday meal.
We’ll distribute the kits to families in Oakland who are working hard, caring for children, or navigating tough times—bringing them together around a table and giving them one less worry this season.
Why this matters:
Holiday is more than food—it's about community, gratitude, and giving. Through my children’s business fairs, I’ve seen the power of giving kids a platform to build and share. Now I’m turning that same spirit toward families in our community: making sure they feel supported, included, and valued. With 50 families served, we’re potentially impacting 400+ people (assuming each kit serves around 8).
Goal & Use of Funds:
Goal: $10,000 (50 kits × ~$200 each)
Every dollar raised will go directly to purchasing the dinner kits, handling any delivery/storage logistics, and ensuring timely distribution.
