Hello there! My name is Alexander Raff and I am the Director of Esports at Brooklyn College. I am raising money for NYC college student organizations to compete in intercollegiate esports who currently do not have the funding to do so themselves. All of the schools involved are public universities and the organizations set to receive this help receive limited (or zero) funding from their student governments or school administrations.
This fundraiser will cover only the schools that cannot afford their dues on their own, and will cover the competition fees for all students at that school for an entire year. The cost for one year to compete in our established intercollegiate league is $1,450.00 per school for all students. The amount we are trying to raise would cover five schools for two years of competition who would otherwise not be able to compete.
These students are an integral part to the esports and gaming community being built within colleges in New York City. Many have competed to represent their schools and peers at tournaments hosted nationwide. We want them to have full seasons and be treated like the student esports athletes that they are, committed to their academics, craft and teamwork. The students and myself are grateful to anyone who can help out and we appreciate every donation no matter how big or small. Updates will be provided when a school's dues are covered as well as updates about competition throughout the year!
