Support Novia's Journey to Freedom and Safety

Hi, my name is Novia. I am a mom to two beautiful boys. I left Jesus and Christianity in 2019, had a baby in 2020, and in 2021 when I was two months pregnant I married their father. I recently came back to Jesus, because I didn’t know what to do anymore. Unfortunately, I am trying to divorce my husband, the father of my children, who has been emotionally abusive, financially abusive, and at times physically abusive as well. However, I made this GoFundMe because I am a stay-at-home mom and have no money of my own. My husband won’t keep any money in our joint account, and he is fully supported by his parents, who are very wealthy. They are trying to make me out to be a terrible human and mother, but I’m honestly just a hurting person who has been through five years of horror. Dealing with a drug addict and trying to keep our family together cost me a lot of my sanity. It’s been really hard, but I finally see I can and should leave. By Gods grace my eyes have been opened and I should not accept this treatment as any form of love. His parents have paid for his lawyer, and I am really lacking guidance and advice from legal counsel. My ultimate trust is in God, and I see him working and making a way for me, but realistically I also know I can’t do much with no monetary support. I do not like asking for help, in this case I really need it. I have $56 to my name right now. That’s it. I don’t know how I’m going to keep driving our car to get us around. But I do know that I need a way out of this marriage. I need support, and most importantly, money, so I don’t get taken advantage of.

I know a good lawyer is about $5,000, not including paying them hourly for their time.

Whoever can give, even if it’s just a couple of dollars, that’s all I ask. And the more people that see this and can give means that one person won’t have to donate any large sum. I know many of you don’t know me personally, but I am a mother, a daughter, and a sister, and maybe we can find common ground there.
