Northwest Yarns & Mercantile has been owned by Echo and Heather since 2016, but the shop itself has been a cornerstone of the Bellingham, WA for over two decades. As a yarn and fiber arts supply shop, we’ve welcomed so many of you - crafters, artists, fiber enthusiasts, and more - through our doors, providing not just supplies, but a space for creativity, learning, and connection. Our shop has always been about more than just yarn and fiber arts crafting supplies. It’s about fostering a sense of belonging and supporting the vibrant fiber arts community that calls Whatcom County and the greater region home.

This past year has brought unexpected challenges. We’ve seen a sharp decline in Canadian business (we miss you, lovely Canadian customers, but understand!), which has always been a vital part of our customer base, and new tariffs have made it even harder to keep our shelves stocked and our doors open. Despite our best efforts, these hurdles have put a strain on our ability to continue serving the community we love.
