At the New Trier Social Service Board, we run 15 clubs that allow students to engage in service work every week. This program is entirely student-led, giving us the opportunity to manage all aspects of service activities in partnership with local agencies. We proudly follow New Trier’s motto: "To commit minds to inquiry, hearts to compassion, and lives to the service of humanity." Our board selects seasonal fundraisers to support various causes throughout the year. This year we have selected one of our very own clubs, which is in desperate need of our aid; Northside. Northside is a tutoring center in an underserved neighborhood in Chicago. The center tutors elementary-aged children after school and pays for their private school tuition. Not only does Northside provide academic assistance, it also provides food and necessary items to the kids and to community members. With this money, Northside will be able to supply winter gear to members of the community that would not be able to buy them on their own.
