Michael Madison has been climbing for over 20 years, and his passion for the sport and the community shines through everything he does. During COVID, Michael began bolting new routes at North Fork as a way to give back, spending countless hours carefully developing climbs, cleaning rock, and building trails. Every year, he hikes in several pounds of bolts and tools to the crag, all paid for out of his own pocket. His dedication has made North Fork a welcoming place for climbers to learn and grow.
We have finally run out of bolts after the initial donation from Washington Anchor Replacement Project, making it harder for him to continue his work. The cost of bolts, chains for anchors, and tool replacement adds up quickly, especially with the tough rock at North Fork. Your support will help Michael finish this project and ensure the crag is safe and accessible for everyone. Once completed, the routes will be shared on Mountain Project for all to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who supports this fundraiser. Together, we can help Michael create a crag that will be open to all, giving back to the climbing community and making North Fork a special place for years to come.
