My daughters, Nora and Clio Lindke, are both working toward their Eagle Projects in Scouting BSA, and each is making a meaningful impact on animal welfare in our community. Nora’s project benefits the Idaho Humane Society, which currently does not have a four-season chicken coop for rescued or surrendered chickens. Without a proper coop, these chickens are kept in small, isolated spaces while they await adoption. Nora’s goal is to build a chicken coop that can house up to ten chickens, giving them room to scratch, roost, and nest as they’re meant to do. Her design will help the Humane Society provide a better quality of life for these animals for years to come. She’s poured her heart into this project, even creating her own sketches and working closely with the organization to ensure the coop meets their needs.
Clio’s Eagle Project is focused on Simply Cats, Boise’s cageless, no-kill feline adoption center. Simply Cats relies on shelving units to organize and store essential supplies, but the current shelves are badly worn, warped, and even chipping wood onto items that cats put in their mouths. Clio’s project is to replace the storage surfaces of three shelving units—fifteen shelves in total—with strong, wide-plank hardwood. This will keep the cats healthier and provide sturdy storage for years to come. Her biggest challenge is acquiring the necessary hardwood and supplies, but she’s determined to make a lasting difference for the cats and staff at Simply Cats.
All funds raised will go directly toward purchasing materials and supplies for both projects. We will provide receipts for all expenses, and any remaining funds will be donated to the Idaho Humane Society and Simply Cats. Your support will help Nora and Clio complete their Eagle Projects and make a real difference for animals in need. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for supporting two young leaders in their journey!
