Our sweet Nola has recently and unexpectedly been diagnosed with cancer - a very large liver tumor taking up nearly half of her abdomen and additional tumors in both lungs. Over the past 24 hours, Nola has undergone CT scans, an MRI, and surgical biopsy. The family is anxiously waiting for pathology results to help determine the next steps in Nola’s treatment. For now, she is scheduled to begin chemotherapy in the next week.
As you can imagine, this is a terrifying season filled with exhaustingly long hospital stays, countless appointments, and overwhelming emotions. While the road ahead is unknown, one thing is for certain - the Harvey family will not walk this journey alone.
Some of the ways this money will be used:
- Covering out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by insurance for in-network and out-of-network doctors and procedures.
- Helping to cover professional cleaners to deep clean the house in between chemo rounds when Nola’s ANC is bottomed out.
- Miscellaneous supplies that the hospital doesn’t provide (chemo gloves, face masks, emesis bags, cleaning supplies)
