My name is Nolan Phillips, and I am a Life Scout from Troop 38 in Concord, North Carolina, working towards completing my Eagle Scout project.
My project will be located at my school, Cox Mill High, where I am a member of the band and play tuba in class and sousaphone in marching band. My goal is to assist the band program in their day-to-day needs by constructing a tuba rack and a new sheet music cabinet. Our band is growing, and these are two assets that can help us succeed. The instrument storage room has the entire wall taken up by giant, clunky tuba cases. So, when everyone gets prepared for class, many traffic jams occur, not to mention the risk of dropping or breaking instruments in such a cramped space. To counteract this, I plan to build a portable rack to store seven tubas so they can access the instruments quickly.
Music is such an influential force in my life, and it would mean the world to give back to such a prestigious organization that creates so many opportunities for students within our communities.
Although it is a large undertaking, I want to ensure that this project will last for many years to come.
Thank you so much for being interested in my project, and I truly appreciate your support.
