Our brother, Noah, is 16 years old and was experiencing what appeared to be seizures. On Sunday March 8, in an effort to get some answers, our mom took him to the emergency room, and things quickly escalated. He was suddenly admitted to the ICU. He was then transferred to the Children's Hospital and developed pneumonia. As of today, March 16, he still remains sedated, intubated, and under close medical care in the ICU.
Because of his autism, this experience has been especially hard on Noah and it has now been over a week since we've been able to talk to him. We still do not have clear answers as to what has caused this medical emergency or when we will be able to take him home, where he loves to be and feels the safest.
Noah is the kindest, most gentle soul with an obsession for bunnies. We all miss our silly texts of random bunny pictures.
Another devastating event struck our family on Friday, March 13. Our mother is a local beekeeper, and while our mom was at the hospital with our brother, the shed at our home caught fire and burned down. The bees were behind the shed and were lost in the fire. Our mother loved her bees and is absolutely devastated. She invested so much into them and had just gotten them safely through the bitter winter.
In the span of just one week, our family has been facing both a medical crisis and a major loss at home. The medical expenses alone will be overwhelming. The damage from the fire has added another layer of stress during an already painful time.
If you are able to contribute, share this page, or simply keep our family in your thoughts, we would be deeply grateful. Every bit of support helps us focus on what matters most right now, being there for our brother and helping our family get through this incredibly difficult moment.
Thank you for your kindness and support .
