My name is Dan Weyandt. I am a high school teacher at Harding Senior High School in Saint Paul, MN.
We are raising money for a student in need. Noah Martin is a 16 year old Junior facing a serious medical condition. After a brief illness he has been diagnosed with a rare disorder called Severe Aplastic Anemia, caused by PNH (Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria). Meaning, that for some reason his body has stopped making bone marrow, and his blood cells are attacking themselves. This is a very rare condition (1-2 per million). At the time of this writing he only has 5% of his marrow left, is in need of frequent blood transfusions, is at risk of blood clots, and has an increased risk of developing Leukemia. This is very much a life threatening illness. We are told the only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant.
As his teacher and friend I am attempting to raise $10,000 dollars, along with the teachers and staff at his school, to help Noah and his family with the massive amount of hardship they have coming their way in the form of medical bills, transportation, food, in-home care, and more.

Noah is looking at a beginning the bone marrow transplant and chemo treatment after a meeting at the University of Minnesota on Tuesday 11/15/2016. This will require a minimum of 90 days of care back and forth from the University of Minnesota.
Noah is the kind of student and friend everyone wishes they could have. When told "I'm so sorry this had to happen to you" his response was "At least it didn't happen to someone else". He gives selflessly and wants nothing in return. Noah is a caring, bright, and loving person who deserves a future. By giving to this cause you will immensely help Noah and his family.
