Support Nina's Recovery and Baby Lana's Care
Donation protected
Dear friends,
Our friend Nina welcomed her baby girl, Lana, on September 1st. Baby Lana is absolutely adorable and is a ray of sunshine.
However, because Nina was sick shortly before delivery, she suffered septic shock syndrome due to the strep infection, leading to multiorgan dysfunction. She lost a significant amount of blood, with her kidneys and lungs being severely affected. Nina was heavily sedated for several days and placed on a lung ventilator.
After a scary week of breathing and other medical support, Nina is conscious again and off the breathing tube. However, the infection still lingers, and another surgery is possibly needed.
According to the doctors, Nina will spend several weeks in the hospital and months recovering. Nina is solo mom by choice and we are joining forces to support Nina’s elderly mother and two little kids, Eli and baby Lana, with everything they might need during these difficult times and once Nina is discharged.
Baby Lana has been able to visit her mom twice and was discharged from the hospital at one week old. She is currently in the loving care of Nina’s friends, Alla and Serghiy. Eli is staying with his grandmother and is receiving daily support from Nina’s friend Julia and her family.
We are thrilled that while Nina is recovering, the entire family (including the cat) is well cared for, after a week of uncertainty.
Please consider donating to support Nina and her family in the coming months especially once Nina is released from the hospital.
