My name is Carrol Steele-Smith, and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I am organizing this fundraiser to support the people of Maldon, St. James, Jamaica, who have been severely affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Although I am not from Maldon, I was deeply moved by the stories of families there, especially that of Nina Lowe-Peterkin, who cared for my two sons when they were young and is now among those struggling to recover after the storm. Nina and her neighbors have been cut off by flooding and damage, with many families left without food, clean water, or safe shelter.

I am working closely with trusted community members on the ground to help coordinate relief efforts and ensure that donations reach those who need them most.

All funds raised will go directly toward emergency relief supplies for affected families in Maldon. These supplies will include food, bottled water, clothing, bedding, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, and other essential goods. A small volunteer team in Maldon will handle local distribution and provide updates to ensure transparency and accountability.
