Support Nick's El Salvador Service Trip
Donation protected
Hello all,
My name is Nicholas Shaw, and I am a senior at Mount Saint Joseph High School. I am excited to share that this summer, I will be traveling to El Salvador for a meaningful service experience focused on improving housing and educational facilities for local communities.
Through the Building Futures Project, I will be working alongside other volunteers and MSJ brothers in villages like Las Delicias or Ciudad Arce, helping with construction projects, serving meals, assisting at a local daycare, and visiting families in need. This experience will not only allow me to contribute to vital infrastructure improvements but also immerse myself in Salvadoran culture and deepen my understanding of global service work.
Service has always been important to me. As an O’Neil Peer Educator at St. Joe, I’ve had the opportunity to mentor underclassmen on wellness and values. Additionally, my background as a camp counselor for MSJ Mountain Biking Camp and the Baltimore Youth Cycling Rookie Camp has given me experience working with children through sports and education. I look forward to applying these skills while engaging with Salvadoran children and families.
However, I cannot embark on this journey without your support. The total cost of the trip is $2,000, and I am humbly asking for contributions to help make this experience possible. Your generosity will allow me to participate in this transformative service opportunity and make a lasting impact on the people of El Salvador.
Thank you for considering my request—I deeply appreciate any support you can provide. Together, we can help build a brighter future for these communities.
Best regards,
Nick Shaw
