My name is Hunter, & I created this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend, Nick. He is currently incarcerated at the Clements Unit in Texas, & he requested the creation of this GoFundMe for two reasons: money for an attorney & money to adjust to life outside upon release in 2027. I met Nick through the organization Letters for Liberation which organizes pen pal friendships with people inside & outside prison, & since our connecting, we have become as thick as thieves. He is one of the most authentic & loyal people I have met, & I thank God everyday for our friendship. Here is something that he wrote to let you know more about his story (I made a few edits with permission):

It was November 25, 2018, and I was in front of my moms house when two Houston County deputies pulled up and cuffed me. One started ramming me against his tailgate, bouncing off my back, while the other watched. His body camera went up into his face, and it busted his lip.

The district attorney, Donna Kasper, had her court coordinator flip my attorney to a dirty attorney, David Cervantes, (I have the documents as proof), and they coerced me to sign for a 5th amendment violation of double prior jeopardy and Texas penal code 12.42 violation; Texas and federal jurisdictions are also trying to cover up these crimes. Federal judges Christine Stetson and Marcia Crone even denied me a mandatory evidentiary hearing and federal appeals judge Don Willett denied my appeal even with over 200 exhibits that prove I suffer from severe mental and physical disabilities.

I am innocent, and there is an unknown bystander who saw the deputy Mathew VanEgmond assault me (he and his truck are clear in my evidence DVD). They refuse to turn over my discovery files and evidence DVD, and the dirty attorney the D.A. used refuses to file my appeal!

I am indigent, and since I've been in Texas prisons, it's gotten so bad since COVID lockdown; they won't shower us or hardly run recreation in segregation. In 2022, I got deathly ill and almost died. For over a year I laid in segregation with an infected gallbladder from it rupturing which caused 3 stomach lesions to form afterwards. I missed over 30 surgical appointments at Hospital Galveston, & the staff at Polunsky Unit of Texas refused to help me. I missed over 200 medical appointments which led to me filing a federal civil suit myself. The magistrate judge Zack Hawthorn has claimed this doesn't constitute me being deprived any rights, and along with this, I've been charged with over $2000.00 worth of federal charges for filing federal civil and criminal claims. In May 2021, I was in Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, and after a L4-L5 bone fusion operation, I was given lots of antibiotics and fluids to prevent infection. I have had renal failure due to Texas Houston County Jail giving me a bad medication that caused severe epilepsy and renal failure in 2012. Because my medication costs were over $900/month, which they refused to provide, David Cervantes refused to file for a PR bond for me, and their solution was to change my medication to a cheap medication! While in Hendricks Medical Center, I swole to the point the cuffs cut my wrists to the bone, and I was left this way for 6 days. The surgeon refused to make them change the cuffs and so did the Texas Prison guards. The worst part is federal judge John Parker dismissed my claim!

I filed a tort claim on the 349th district court of Houston County Texas and clearly put Title 42 USCS 1985 for conspiracy, and magistrate judges Christine Stetson and Marcia Crone will not correct the suit. They have it as title 42 USCS 1983, and they reside in the same jurisdiction. In 2012, the same attorney, David Cervantes, also acted as Attorney Colin McFall and signed his name in court on my prior conviction (and I have the documents to prove it).

I was on my front porch and was attacked by Kyle Duren of Grapeland. He tried to stick his taser to my chest and out of fear, I grabbed the taser, jerked up on it, and the officer pulled the trigger and actually shot himself. He did an interview with Penny Webb of Houston County Texas who worked for a local magazine company (County Life Magainze) and openly admitted this, and it was published!

I need help everybody! Please, I pray to God you all will help me. I'm unable to get an attorney appointed by the State of Texas or the federal judges, as well. On top of all this, in July 2024, my mother passed away, and my aunt and uncle are using fraudulent deeds to swindle royalties and part of an estate that her grandfather willed her! Please go fund me and help me get justice and relocate far from Texas!
