As you all know, I'm a massive footie fan, player, and coach, I get a ton of purpose out of getting involved in to the community and mentoring kids, and running the NY marathon has been a dream of mine since I started this running journey ~3 years ago.
As such, I'm SUPER proud to have the opportunity to run the 2025 New York City Marathon on behalf of the New York SCORES organization on November 2nd!
I've been an active member of the SCORES community since I moved to New York, about 2 years ago, and thoroughly believe in their mission.
TLDR: New York SCORES is a non-profit that creates after-school programming for underserved children. Programming typically revolves around playing soccer, reading and writing, and building connections within the community - whatever we can do to give these children an opportunity to learn and play. I've had the opportunity to take part in and support some of these amazing programs, including:
- Poetry SLAM! - signature event where America SCORES students perform original poetry in front of live audiences
- Fall / Spring Jamboree - seasonal community event where SCORES participants come together for a day of soccer matches, team-building activities, and service-learning presentations
- Game Day / Family Festival - community event where SCORES participants, families, and supporters gather for friendly soccer matches, workshops, and cultural activities
Your donation will help us continue to grow this programming, and reach more kids, ahead of the SCORES's 25th Anniversary in 2026.
