Thanks to Operation Metro Surge, patrolling for ICE activity has become necessary to support the safety of vulnerable neighbors in the Twin Cities. Patrollers in Northeast/Southeast Minneapolis have dedicated themselves to keeping neighbors safe, at great personal risk and expense. For many, this has meant spending money they don’t have to cover the costs of patrolling.
We are raising funds to help cover:
- Supplies essential to patrolling, including gas, car repairs, hand warmers, etc.
- Expenses related to detention for detained patrollers, including legal and medical bills
- Other expenses identified by patrollers and dispatchers
Please support our amazing neighbors who have braved the cold, threats to their personal safety, intentional damage to their vehicles, physical injury, chemical irritants, etc to make sure ICE is observed, abductions and harassment are documented, and families receive the information and support they need to find their loved ones. They have volunteered their time to keep our schools, places of worship, businesses, and community spaces safe and welcoming. They have done this work for the love of community.
