The US Asian Professionals Resource Group (APRG) is raising funds for Direct Relief. Direct Relief is responding to catastrophic flash flooding in Nepal, coordinating with local Nepali healthcare partners and Nepal’s Ministry of Health to deliver emergency medical aid and relief.

Direct Relief is mobilizing emergency medical support and is in communication with partner organizations across the affected region. The organization has shared its available medical inventory with Nepal’s Ministry of Health and with Nepali nonprofits, and is providing an emergency operating grant to Mountain Heart Nepal, which delivers medical care and outreach in the country’s hardest-to-reach areas.

• 1200+ reported killed in Nepal

• 5,000+ still missing, including people from more than two dozen countries

• Approximately 10,000 households in immediate need of relief (UN OCHA)

• 8 districts and 72 km of river affected, knocking out 901 MW of hydropower and prompting a request for heavy-lift cargo drones due to road access issues.

• 9,300+ personnel were deployed across flood-hit areas, working to provide emergency medical care.
