As you may know on Sunday night/early hours of Monday morning there was an incident at Tarleton Courtyard which caused damage to The Microscope Shop window resulting in several thousands of pounds worth of damage. It turns out that the window is uninsured due to a clause in the leasehold - very small print- exempting it from the buildings insurance. This was only discovered afterwards. There is no recompense from any police fund despite there being a crime committed and the culprits arrested.

The window is specialist glass and due to the size it can only be sourced from a few large companies and the estimated cost is around £5,000.

The business owner, Alan and his daughter are devastated and still in complete shock about what has happened. They have a beautiful shop front which is now sadly boarded up until a solution to the glazing can be found.

The funds raised will go towards replacing the window.

If there is an excess of funds this will be donated to Hesketh Bank and Tarleton Helpers which is a charity who work to improve the lives of local residents in Tarelton and Hesketh Bank and surrounding areas.
