Support Needed for Leah!

My name is Hannah, and I am asking for help for my sister, Leah, who is fighting multiple false charges that her ex-husband has filed against her simply because he wants to harass and harm her.

Leah has had a stressful journey and needs to get to a safe, peaceful emotional space where she is free to care for her beautiful kids and heal with them. Right now, her struggles are mammoth. Her four kids depend on her because she is their primary caregiver and has been the only stable, healthy parent in their lives.

These false charges imposed by Leah's ex-husband have caused her to face police encounters and multiple court appearances. She faces fines, a mark on her permanent record, license suspension, and possible jail time if found guilty. Leah must drive the children to and from school and other essential activities. She won't even be able to volunteer at her children's school if she is found guilty. She has been fighting these charges for a long time with a public defender but finds that she will need an assertive attorney to fight this case, matching the skills of the attorney her ex-husband has hired.

Brief history: Leah was married for almost nine years, and her ex-husband abused and tormented her daily throughout the marriage, leaving her with anxiety and post-traumatic stress. I have watched her bravely struggle hard and unwaveringly continue to love, nurture and care for her children...but it is time for her to feel peace on her motherhood journey. Her ex-husband works full time, and Leah has been unable also to work because he refuses to pay his share of child care. In addition, the child support he pays is minimal. His continuous endeavor is to limit Leah's financial resources and strip her of her emotional well-being. He continues to create false accusations that she has to fight in court. It is immensely stressful for Leah, and she does not have the funds to be successful in court on her own.

While we are grateful that Leah now has a loving husband, she has a long road ahead. These financial burdens are extraordinary and more significant than their family budget allows, especially since she cannot work in these circumstances.
