Hi! My name is Alysha, and I’ve started this GFM to help raise money for my mom to afford to get a motorized wheelchair. It is going to be very difficult to come up with her portion of the cost.

She has an opportunity to get a custom electric wheelchair. This would substantially improve her opportunity to navigate getting out of her small senior’s apartment and regain some much needed independence. She is an amazing friend, wife, mom and grandma who lives with several chronic health issues. She looks after her husband-who has dementia (and also some mobility issues as a result of this). That said, the government will pay 75% of the wheelchair but it is expected to cost 9-$10,000 !! This leaves maybe $4000 to be paid out of pocket with tax.

I wanted to share -just in case, perhaps, anyone thinks this is something they may feel able / lead to contribute to - even small contributions add up!
