Nathan Alexander is a devoted husband and father who is facing serious illness. His entire family was hit hard in January with some type of flu (suspected covid) and Nathan was especially affected. The doctor thinks he has post-viral syndrome and has told him to brace for a potentially long recovery.

It's not fully understood what causes the syndrome, but Nathan is fighting severe symptoms that are eclipsing his life right now. His debilitating symptoms include migraines, vertigo, irregular heartbeat, weakness, joint pain and more. Efforts to "push through" his symptoms have caused flare ups that result in total weakness and pain the following day. Small bursts of effort have resulted in hours of exhaustion and pain. While his eventual full recovery is expected, the timeline on that is unclear and complete rest in the meantime is among the most beneficial steps he can take in his healing process.

Nathan and his wife, Rebecca, have 4 daughters together. Up until now, they have had a traditional family with Nathan being the primary breadwinner and Rebecca being a homeschool mom to all 4 of their children (2 of whom have additional health needs that require special care) and working only occasionally and in part time roles.

The family just moved into a home that they bought in December after years of working towards this goal. They are suddenly being faced with a serious crisis while being 5 hours from their closest family, in a new community without any local support system.

Rebecca is taking care of their children, advocating for Nathan's health and facing the question of how to fully provide for their family after being outside of the full time workforce for over 13 years. The reality is that they are facing the possibility of losing their home if they cannot generate income quickly.
