We at Legendary Lake Mills have been devastated to hear the heartbreaking news that has deeply affected our beloved Crawfish Junction family. We ask you to take a moment to read this post in its entirety and to share it widely. Your support and generosity can make a tremendous difference.

From Crawfish Junction:

"By now some of you know what took place at Crawfish Junction just over a week ago, the evening of Mother's Day. After an absolutely awesome day with our brunch, (which was only possible by an enormous and awesome effort by our staff who are the best at what they do!), our day took a turn for the worst in the evening. After our brunch at 2pm, we closed for the day. Around 7:30pm, a group of people left another area bar and came to Crawfish Junction, entering the back parking lot. As we were closed following our brunch, one of the people in this group decided to take a leak on our food truck which was parked out back, in view of our connected apartment which was occupied by our tenant and her children. Our chef and co-owner, Nate Moralez, was still on the property and confronted this individual (first by offering to let him come inside to use our bathroom), and then he asked the group to leave when the individual became hostile. They appeared to have been drinking, and we do not fully know what their intentions were.

Nate was subsequently attacked, knocked over a parking block and jumped. On the ground, he took some very serious blows and kicks from this person. Death threats were made towards Nate, and the group then left. Nate went to the Emergency room that night with multiple broken bones in his face, busted up ribs and a major concussion. He obviously has been unable to work, as well as being very sensitive to light and activity since then. He has had to return to the hospital again due to the severity of his injuries, and may still need surgery. He is currently at home resting and recovering, a process that could take 3 weeks at least. "

Rebecca Moralez, Nate's Wife, and a cherished member of the Legendary Lake Mills Board of Directors, is family to us. She and the rest of their amazing team are stepping in to fill the gap while Nate is recovering. The Crawfish Junction you know and love is a place of joy, community, and comfort. This incident goes against everything they stand for. Let’s rally together and support Crawfish Junction.
