Team Nate and K9 Blue

My name is Nate, we adopted a Bloodhound named Blue last fall, and have committed to training, and certifying Blue as a Search and Rescue K9 with the goal of saving lives, while remaining 100% volunteer.

Blue's story. Blue, along with 2 other siblings, we're rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri by a great family. This family has a history of being very passionate about training K9 SAR dogs, and deploying them as needed.

My best friend Brock Johnson and fellow Marine, of Colorado, picked up the responsibility of training Blue, and was very passionate and dedicated to his training with Blue, they traveled across the country to attend Seminars by well known trainers.

Tragically, May of 2024, Brock passed away. Blue was set to be sent to a Handler in Hawaii, but those plans fell through. After hard thought, and many prayers, our family decided to commit and adopt Blue into our household, and pick up where Brock left off.

The transition was flawless, and Blue's ability to find lost people is absolutely incredible, he has proved himself to have a passion for his work. We have been training non-stop, for approximately 6 months not, and the training will never stop.

I am requesting financial assistance, to help maintain Blue in his training, and planning a trip to South Dakota in 2 weeks, to test out, and hopefully become a Certified K9 Search and Rescue team that way we can be promoted to a Deployable team, and do everything we can, to bring lost people home.
