I was having a hard time seeing, and my vision became more noticeably impaired. On May 14th, 2025, I had an eye exam and was suspected of having cataracts and glaucoma. I went to an ophthalmologist specialist for a second evaluation and medical opinion, where further testing was done, and I was diagnosed with hypermature cataracts as well as stage 4 severe glaucoma in both my left and right eye. I was then given a treatment plan and was told without treatment that I would have complete vision loss and total blindness.

My insurance will cover the procedure room, surgical supplies, IV, and general anesthesia, however, it does not cover multifocal intraocular prescription lenses that would be implanted in both my eyes.

This is why I am asking for the 1,600 dollars to cover the multifocal intraocular lenses, 800 per eye, which my insurance has refused to cover.
