My years working as a social care leader in Ireland, has offered me the opportunity to make meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families, however the lack of mental health services for Children is indeed a pressing issue, Many Children in Residential care often face complex trauma and emotional challenges, yet access to appropriate mental health support is limited.

A lust For life is a youth mental health charity in Ireland. They develop FREE early prevention mental health schools’ programmes. The programmes are designed to be delivered by teachers in the classroom and aim to provide children with the tools they need to enhance and protect their mental health. Cofounded by Bressie and Paula McLoughlin, A lust For Life focuses on fostering resilience, wellbeing, and positive mental health. All the money raised for this charity will make a significant difference to the lives of children by giving them access to early prevention mental health education. Your generosity will contribute to breaking down stigma and improving access to vital support for those who need it.

Swimming Alcatraz for a Lust for life is an incredible challenge but for me it symbolizes obstacles much like the challenges faced by young people in Ireland, This swim represents not just a challenge but a celebration of resilience and growth.
