My name is Rob Perez and I am an ultra runner based out of Washington, DC. I have been running consistently for 10 years now which was sparked by joining the Navy in 2013 out of Chicago, Illinois. Currently, I run with Northeast Track Club which is a pandemic-formed running club that started in 2020. Here is how you can help-

On March 20th at 4 am, I start my journey on my biggest race yet. I was invited this year to participate in The Speed Project - a 300+ mile race from LA to Las Vegas. This event is normally a 6-person team relay race. I AM RUNNING IT SOLO! I was one of 15 people invited worldwide and it's currently the most epic running race that there is. It runs from the Santa Monica Pier in LA and finishes at the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. There is no specific route, there are no spectators, just you and your team. I have a 6-person support crew that is going to be alongside. They are fellow runners and friends that are equally as insane for taking a week away from their personal lives to support me in this.

I made one promise to my team: I would do everything I can to reduce costs for them since they are doing so much for me. I want to keep that promise and can use your assistance to help us all in this mission. We've had a bunch of struggles with finding a financial sponsor for our team and had to pivot weekly as we continue to find ways to make things work for us. The motto at Northeast Track Club is EMBRACE CHAOS, which we have lived!
