Hello friends and family!
This October I have another incredible opportunity to travel to Kenya with The Divinity Foundation (TDF), a non-profit dedicated to supporting orphaned and impoverished children, mothers, and girls affected by female genital mutilation (FGM). This will be my fourth time traveling to Kenya with TDF. Our team will provide medical care, distribute essential supplies, and raise awareness on women's health and safety. On average 300 patients are treated absolutely free of charge each day. This includes free consultation, diagnostic tests, medications and any other treatment that can be administered on the day from minor surgical procedures to dressings and treatment of infected wounds. A two week medical expedition treats approximately 3000 Kenyan's absolutely free of charge. Annually, that’s 9000 people who lack the money for healthcare that we are able to help. As a nurse, I am deeply committed to using my skills to serve communities in need.
During this trip, we'll be:
- providing free medical care and medications to those without access
- distributing shoes, food rations and menstrual health kits
- supporting orphaned and vulnerable children
- raising awareness and offering resources to girls affected by FGM
Your donations will help cover:
- Flight to Kenya
- Donation to Divinity foundation (covers accommodation, transportation in Kenya, medications and supplies).
- Any funds raised beyond my travel and program costs will be donated directly to TDF to continue their life changing initiatives.
