My name is Makayla, and I’m creating this fundraiser to help save my mom’s home from foreclosure.

My mom has worked hard her entire life. She has never been someone who asks for help or handouts; in fact, she hates it. She’s always been the person who pushes through, figures it out, and handles things on her own. Asking for support is incredibly difficult for her, but circumstances have left us with no other option.

Since 2011, my mom has also struggled with ongoing health problems. These challenges have affected her ability to work and maintain financial stability, eventually placing her on a fixed income. Despite continuing to do everything she can, rising living costs and limited income have made it impossible to keep up.

When our family needed her most, my mom stepped in to raise my brother and me. She used her retirement savings to give us stability and a future, never once thinking twice about the sacrifice.

We have recently been informed that her home is scheduled to be foreclosed in March.

If we were to lose this home, renting is not a realistic option. Due to income restrictions and other circumstances tied to her fixed income, securing a rental would be extremely difficult, if not impossible. Losing this house would mean losing her stability and security, not just a place to live.

She’s in despite doing everything right for decades, she’s facing the devastating possibility of losing the home she worked so hard to keep. Rising costs and limited income have made it impossible to keep up, and she has fallen behind on payments.

This house is more than just a building. It’s where memories were made, where holidays were celebrated, and where our family has always found stability. For my mom, it represents safety, dignity, and the result of a lifetime of responsibility and sacrifice. No one who has worked as hard as she has should have to live in fear of losing their home.

The funds raised will go directly toward catching up on mortgage payments, foreclosure-related fees, and any costs necessary to stop the foreclosure process and allow her to remain in her home.

Asking for help is not something my mom ever wanted to do, and it’s not something we take lightly. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much.
