Hi friends,
This April, I have the opportunity to travel to Malawi, Africa with Hearts 4 Mission International (H4MI) to help care for patients undergoing life-saving open-heart surgery. In many parts of the world, people live with treatable heart disease simply because surgery isn’t available and that reality is hard to ignore.
I went into nursing because I wanted to care for people who need it most and to be part of medical mission work. On this trip, I’ll be caring for patients after open-heart surgery in a low-resource setting and helping teach local nurses in Malawi how to care for cardiac ICU patients, so this care can continue long after the volunteer team leaves.
What I love about H4MI is that they don’t just show up and leave. They focus on building sustainable programs by supporting and training local healthcare teams to set them up for success in the future.
This mission is fully self-funded. The costs include flights, hotel accommodations, room and board, medical supplies, and unpaid time off work. Any support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, helps make this possible and directly supports patients who otherwise wouldn’t have access to these life saving surgeries.
If you know me, you know my heart is in this work and i am passionate about nursing and my job. I’m incredibly grateful for the support, love, and encouragement as I take this step to help care for others in need.
Thank you
