On Friday January 29th, my father (57) and brother (31) were detained by ICE. What was supposed to be a short trip to Home Depot turned out to be the worst decision made that day.

ICE agents were running plates and targeted my father’s truck. We wanted to make a shelf, rearrange some things in our house and needed wood. My brother had come over that day to cut down a tree that had died the previous summer and while there he was going to help with the shelf. The agents spotted the parked truck on the Home Depot lot and followed them.

During the stop my dad was pushed down using one of the tactics ICE described as “necessary” and the force used caused him to dislocate his shoulder when he landed on the floor.

after the incident, My father was deported on Monday two days later. My father has always been a hard working man with no criminal record.

My brother shielded my father from being hit, punched, kicked. After they managed to detain both, the government pressed charges against my brother, stating my brother had assaulted an officer. On July 16th, 2026 he was found NOT GUILTY by a jury.

He didn’t take their plea deal because he knew he didn’t do it and wanted to fight in hopes of proving his innocence. We want to fight and keep my brother from being deported. He has his entire life here. 22 years in this country, brought as a child, and made his life here. He has three children, no criminal record, and has worked his entire life and he has stayed out of trouble.

We’d like help to fund his legal fees and fight this as far as we can take it. Thank you for any support.
