Support my brother Scott as he fights cancer

**Closing- Evening 4th of July**

Hi my name is Rebekah,

Scott is my brother and I am hoping to fundraise to help him, his family and his barber buisness 'Brown & Sons Barber Co' whilst he is unfit to work at the moment. He is a well thought of guy in Dundee, a hard working family man that has a love for the outdoors, his wife Dana, sons Reuben and Cayden and their french bulldog Beau. As a large family and him being the eldest of 4 we are all so close and did not expect that just after he turned 40 he would have this difficult stage in his life and things really did change for him and all of us overnight.

He was diagnosed with a Rare and aggressive Ewing's Sarcoma like tumour in March 2023 and the beginning of his long and gruelling cancer journey began. We found out that he was born with this and was always going to have this fight at some point but it has all come to light now at the age of 40.

The original Treatment plan was 9 rounds of strong chemotherapy, surgery and then a further 5 sessions of chemo to try and beat this nasty disease. But unfortunately after receiving the 2 strongest types of chemo March-June a recent scan revealed it is not working, the tumour is completely resistant to any medicinal treatment they could throw at it and it has gotten marginally larger and mutated. The only option (and thank goodness there is one other option) is to bring surgery forward and remove the tumour.  Surgery would have been easier and more successful if Chemotherapy could shrink this initially. The inpatient treatments Scott has received has already has taken its toll on him requiring numerous blood transfusions, antibiotics and anti sickness medications, but he has been so strong and brave so far, no matter how tough! 

This is important to me as Scott is one of the first to sponsor and give to those who need help or donations and has always had a listening ear, even through this difficult time he is going through himself. I would love if we could give back to him some of the kindness he has given over the years.

He was diagnosed and started on his cancer treatment not long after himself and his wife Dana were accepted for their mortgage for their family home and was so close to having his life insurance/critical illness cover in place, but the investigation revealing his cancer was during all of this. As of yet, unfortunately he has not received the help needed in funds from the government to support his home/buisness at this moment in time which I hope will change very soon!

I understand we are in a cost of living crisis, but if anyone can help and donate to take some of the financial stress away for him, his family and my family temporarily as he will be unfit to work for a while it would be so appreciated. He has spread awareness to help others and has the most selfless soul. A big thank you to those who have supported him this far working extra to cover his hours and time in his barber shop/help him at home. I also thank those who continue to visit his barber shop for their fresh haircuts even though he is not there at the moment, he massively appreciates this as do we as a family.

I have made the decision myself to do this for Scott as I know this will be a struggle, he is well liked and has been a humble and giving person as long as I've known him.

Health is our wealth but this financial support would be the bonus he deserves and I would be so thankful to anyone who wishes to help even just sharing this and spreading the word.
